The YONEX-SUNRISE India Open 2019 is getting underway in New Delhi, India from 26-31 March with the Quarterfnals taking place tomorrow.
In this BWF World Tour Super 500 event, many of the World's Badminton players are participating but also a number of European players have made a great performance and managed to reach the Quarterfinals.
Two Danes in the Quarterfinals
The Dane Viktor Axelsen is without doubt in excellent form and ready to win a title in this Asian tour which includes the Malaysian Open and the Singapore Open as well. The World's number four beat in two straight games Suppanyu Avihingsanon from Thailand with a score of 21-11, 21-9. In the Quarterfinals he will meet for the fifth time the Indian Prannoy H. Tomorrow, in the Quarterfinals, the Dane will meet for the first time the Indian star Pusarla V. Sindhu, seeded as number two, who will fight with the support of her compatriots.
Strong performances for Doubles
In the category of the Men's Doubles, the Danes Kim Astrup and Anders Skaarup Rasmussen beat comfortably Goh Sze Fei and Nur Izzuddin from Malaysia with a score of 21-14, 21-7.
Tomorrow, the number one seeds will fight against Tinn Isriyanet and Kittisak Namdash from Thailand in KD Jadhav Indoor Hall.
An impressive performance was given also by the Russian pair Rodion Alimov and Alina Davletova who beat the hosts Saurabh Sharma Anoushka Parikh with 21-13, 21-9.
In the Quarterfinals, the Russians will play against the Indonesian pair Praveen Jordan and Melati Daeva Oktavianti.
