Gabriela and Stefani Stoeva are out of the Swiss Open. Such as at the Malaysia Masters in January, they have been beaten by Jung/Chang in two games.

On Saturday, the Stoeva sisters were playing their semi-final match in Basel after Rikke Søby and Mathias Bay-Smidt have been able to reach the final of the Swiss Open 2019 as the first Europeans.

After a close first game (19-21) against their South Korean opponents, Jung Kzung Eun/Chang Ye Na, the Bulgarian pair had to fight in the second game to reach the final of the BWF World Tour 300 tournament.

But the sisters did not manage to come back and lost straight in the end (10-21).

The third defeat in the third game

The match in Basel on Saturday was the third match for the Stoevas against Jung/Chang. Even though they have been seeded higher than their Asian opponents, they could not take their first win against them.

The last time they played against each other was in the second round of the Malaysia Masters 2019. The result: 21-12 and 21-6 for the South Koreans.

"Yes, we feel very disappointed but amazing about four weeks of tournaments. We had one of the best matches so far, but we have to work even harder now to improve our performance", Gabriela Stoeva stated on Instagram.

"Thank you for the amazing support this week, it’ means a lot to us. Now, it is time to take a little rest and to be ready for the next one", she added.

With the Stoeva sisters not being qualified for the finals of the YONEX Swiss Open 2019, Marcus Ellis and Chris Langridge are the only European pair left that is able to qualify for the final today.
