This week, Badminton Europe has released a new Podcast and it is all about para-badminton.

Check out the new BEC Podcast with our on-screen presenter Rasmus Bech, speaking to Catherine Rosengren from Denmark.

Progress is being made

The Danish para-badminton player is a big believer of the sport progressing and especially in European para-badminton.

- I can see European Para developing in the right way because there are so many new players all the time and they have been improving so much, from tournament to tournament, Catherine Rosengren said.

- Technical things more than anything and just in general, it is great that they are improving. The games are more exciting.

- One thing that is happening is that the gap is not that big against the Asian players and often, European players beat them.

No difference between the two

The 19-year-old commented on how indifferent it is from being a para-player and a non-para player.

Rosengren also said her view on what is the most exciting thing about para-badminton.

- It is nice to get the opportunity to travel to different countries and meet new people, but I don’t feel like a ‘para player’ when I travel because I am just me, travelling.

- I do not feel there is much of a difference actually between para and non-para-badminton. Of course, sometimes you can see someone is missing a leg or something but apart from that, there is no difference really.

- It is quite amazing how some para players can move on a court, especially those who are missing a leg, it is amazing to see but then it is great watching short stature players because they are so fast.

You can watch and listen to the podcast on YouTube, Facebook, Spotify, SoundCloud and iTunes.
