In 2018, six new female Para-Badminton players received scholarships from Badminton Europe (BEC), via its Women in Badminton Scholarship Programme. The objective of this programme is to increase female representation in activities within Badminton Europe where a lack of female participation has been identified.

The six Para-Badminton players are all classified in 2018 and participated in their first Badminton World Federation (BWF) Para-Badminton international tournaments this year. These players are:

•Emma Stoner – England
•Edyna Mouritsen – Faroe Islands
•Dimitra Korokida – Greece
•Beatriz Monteiro – Portugal
•Ivanna Redka – Ukraine
•Vita Vimba – Russia

The 2019 BEC Women in Badminton Scholarship application will be opened in January 2019.
