Countries confirmed for Copenhagen

After three days of team badminton across Europe, the qualification has now concluded the seven teams who will join Denmark for the finals of the European Mixed Team Championships in Copenhagen.

The event will take place from 13-17 February 2019 at the Frederiksberg Hallerne in Copenhagen, Denmark which was announced last month.

The teams who will be competing for the title in the Danish Capital will be the hosts, Denmark, joined by England, Russia, The Netherlands, France, Germany, Spain and Ireland.

An organised event

From Thursday 6 December there was badminton being played to decide who would go to the finals next year, with it starting in Sofia, Bulgaria.

On Friday, the remaining host nations started competing for their 'road to glory' which continued until late afternoon on Sunday.

BEC Vice President said: - The Qualification across Europe was organised perfectly and congratulations to the countries who are through into the finals in Copenhagen next year.
How it all unfolded

Ireland was the first team to be finalised on Sunday morning after beating the hosts, Bulgaria 3-2.

This was then followed by Russia who Qualified in Moldova after beating the hosts 4-1 before France made their place secure after dispatching the Faroe Islands 5-0.

With three teams secured, The Netherlands was next before England went through after putting aside Belgium before Germany joined the group before Spain secured their place late on Sunday afternoon.
