Russia’s Anastasia Pustinskaya was one of the fancied players to win a medal in the European juniors women’s singles in Tallinn. The Russian had shown enough in both the team event and the earlier individual rounds to justify here 4th seeding.

However, Leonice Huet displayed no room for sentiment in their fourth round match today as the French woman led from start to finish to end the Russian dream with a 21-16 21-16 win.

- Today I got it right against Anastasia. I moved her around the court to all corners and gave her no time to attack. She beat me last time a few weeks ago in Bulgaria so it was nice to get some revenge this time and at such an important tournament.

While the fourth seed was falling the top two seeded women’s singles from Hungary marched on to the quarter final. Both Reka Madaraz and Vivien Sandorhazi look to be growing in the tournament and Sandorhazi in particular was happy with performance.

- It is getting better for me. I have been a little frustrated with my game but I can see it getting better with more positive aspects in this mornings match.

In truth the players all have to beat in Line Christophersen. The Dane was untroubled yet again in her last 16 match this morning blasting by Germany’s Ann-Kathrin Spori 21-7 21-7.
