Double up for the Dutch

It will be an all-Dutch matchup in the semi-finals of the mixed doubles at the Belgian International 2018.

The Dutch players had a good start of the day winning two out of two matches in the morning session of the mixed doubles category.

Imke van der Aar and Ruben Jille beat Danish Sara Lundgaard and Lasse Mølhede 21-19 21-12 and will in the semi-finals face countrymen Selena Piek and Jacco Arends who won in straight games against Anne Tran and Bastian Kersaudy from France.

Will try to dominate
The two pairs have never met before at international level, but Jille and van der Aar believes that they stand a chance against Arends and Piek who are top seed at the tournament.

- We are of course a new pair, but I think we have played some good matches here and also last month in Spain. If we continue playing at this level maybe we can do even more, Imke van der Aar says.

- Our game plan is a secret for now. We practice with them every day, so we know each other so well. In the end it is about getting the attack, so we will try to dominate from the half court and from the net, but it will be a challenge, Ruben Jille says.

French Thom Gicquel/Delphine Delrue will face Adam Hall and Julie Macpherson from Scotland in the second semi-final.
