There were no surprises as the group stages for the #EJC18 in Tallinn concluded with all 8 seeded teams coming through their respective groups.

As expected both Denmark and France came through groups 1 and 2 with the Danes only dropping 3 games in the entire group stages. France (pictured below) were made to work harder for their quarter final spot with Sweden pushing them hard in the final shoot out with the French eventually winning 4-1.

England came through group 3 with convincing wins over Spain, Portugal and Hungary while Russia whitewashed all before them to top group 5 only dropping 2 games in there matches against Slovakia, Latvia and Iceland.

Like Russia team Germany blitzed group 5 beating Israel, Finland an Italy all by 5-0 score lines. The Czech Republic had the toughest route to the quarter finals twice been taken the 5 match distance by Moldova and Belgium before securing top spot with a 4-1 win over Norway.

In group 7 Turkey advanced as favourites from the 5 team group while Scotland topped the second 5 team group after taking down Romania 5-0 in their final match with all the hard work been done yesterday beating The Netherlands to all but secure the group a day early.

#EJC18 Team Quarter Final Draw
Denmark (1) V Scotland (5/8)
England (3/4) V Germany (5/8)
Turkey (5/8) V Russia (3/4)
Czech Republic (5/8) V France (2)

Note: There was a redraw required after an initial mistake made during the draw that followed the end of the group matches in the competition venue. The redraw took place at 22.45 in the Radisson Blue Olumpia Hotel and all team managers concerned were informed. As a result of the original mistake, which Badminton Europe sincerely apologise for, the quarter finals will now start at 11am (local time) 10th September with the semi finals scheduled for 5pm (local time).
