The local and newly crowned world champion Carolina Marin is top seeded in women’s singles and stars from both Asia and Europe are travelling to the Catalan city for precious world ranking points.

From 28 August to 2 September 2018, the HSBC BWF World Tour Super 300 tournament welcomes the other top seeded players; Mathias Boe and Carsten Mogensen from Denmark, Marcus Ellis and Lauren Smith from England, Mayu Matsumoto and Wakana Nagahara from Japan, and, Suppanyu Avihingsanon from Thailand.
The Spanish Badminton Federation are organizing the tournament with the Badminton World Federation (BWF) at the venue: Palau d'Esports de la Vall d'Hebron. Tickets went for sale today and the price for semi-finals tickets is 12 Euro and for the final 14 Euro.
