English pair Chris Adcock and Gabrielle Adcock suffered a defeat in the semi-finals of the Malaysia Open today. The world No. 9 pair lost to China’s fourth seeds Zheng Siwei/Huang Yaqiong in three games 21-17, 18-21, 19-21.

“We have not played many tournaments with my injury, so now we are ready and raring to go. We are feeling confident, feeling good and fresh,” said the 27-year-old Gabrielle.
In yesterday's quarter-finals the British pair beat the reigning Olympic champions and top seeds Tontowi Ahmad and Liliyana Natsir of Indonesia 21-14, 21-23, 21-13. to reach the semi-finals.
English team-mate Rajiv Ouseph was eliminated in the first round of the men's singles by China's Shi Yuqi. Brice Leveredez of France advanced to the quarter-finals where he lost to India's Kidambi Srikanth in two games.
Axelsen and Leverdez reached quarter-final stage
World champion Viktor Axelsen was dominated by Lee Chong Wei in the quarter-finals of the 700.000 US Dollars event. The Malaysian number one cruised into the tournament's semifinals in Kuala Lumpur as he smashed past Axelsen 21-17, 21-9.
"Not the result I’d hoped for. I will evaluate and get back to work. I had a little trouble breathing, but that’s no excuse", the 24-year-old posted on his official Facebook page.
