As Europe’s best head off to Bangkok for the ‘Thomas & Uber Cup’, the challenge of facing each other as well as Asia’s finest is certainly on the minds of some of the top contenders flying over to the Far East.

Denmark’s Mia Blichfeldt feels ready for this event. A few successful outing at the All England Open, Orleans Masters and the European Championships has put her in good stead for the trip to Thailand.

 - I’m looking forward to representing my country. We have had good preparation for this event, and hopefully I’m going to show that on court, Blichfeldt said to Badminton Europe.

Despite the absence of world number three women’s doubles pair Kamilla Rytter Juhl and Christinna Pedersen, Blichfeldt believes the strength of the Danish team’s spirit will everyone rise to the occasion.

 - We are a young team now without Chris and Kamilla. But I’m sure that we can stand together, help and support each other as much as possible. Our team spirit has never been better, and it gives some of the other players a good chance to show their level.

Denmark begin their account against Russia, and Blichfeldt is already looking to exact revenge on Evgeniya Kosetskaya. The Russian ousted Blichfeldt in the Men’s & Women’s Team Championships back in February.

 - I’m looking forward to having a re-match against Kosetskaya. I will do all I can to give my team a win. I also look forward to enjoying this event and having the support of my team. Playing in a team is added pressure for me, because I’m not only playing for myself, but also for the team. But I think it’s a good challenge for me and I’m looking to take it up.
