Following an inspiring two weeks at the Gold Coast 2018 Commonwealth Games, England will be looking to capitalise on their fantastic results at the European Championships this year.

The superstar husband-wife combination of Chris and Gabrielle Alcock will be looking to hold on to their title as reigning European Champions - with a number of fantastic results between this year and last to justify their number 1 seeding in this year's championships.

They will be kicking off their campaign with a first round match against Poland's Pawel Smilowski and Magdalena Swierczynska.

Meanwhile, England's men's doubles pairing of Chris Langridge and Marcus Ellis will be looking to claim the country's first Gold medal in the men's doubles event since 1998 when Simon Archer and Chris Hunt managed to disrupt Denmark's domination. Denmark have taken the top of the Men’s Doubles podium for 14 of the last 17 years!

Langridge and Ellis will be carrying through the energy and excitement from the Gold Coast 2018 Commonwealth Games where they won Gold last week in the individual event. They overcame reigning Olympic silver medalists from Malaysia, V Shem Goh and Wee Kiong Tan in the semi-finals before defeating India's Satwik Rankireddy and Chirag Chandrasekhar Shetty in two sets to claim the Gold medal.

Langridge please with Commonwealth Games win ahead of European Championships

- We composed ourselves and performed well, and we are both so, so pleased, Chris Langridge told BBC Sport

The 2018 European Championships will be taking place in Huelva, Spain, from 24-29 April.
