- We are very much looking forward to this year’s edition of the Yonex Badminton Swiss Open. The tournament has a long tradition in our country - it has been held since 1955 and is the biggest international tournament in Switzerland, said events board member of Swiss Badminton Charles Keller.

The Super 300-tournament will be hosted in the city of Basel in the venue of St. Jakobshalle and starts 20 February. During this year’s Swiss Open, the federation prepares to start the countdown for 2019, where they will host BWF’s World Championships.

- This year we want to the opportunity to already get in the spirit of this memorable event ahead of us - with the numerous fans in the venue and all the athletes present.

Jørgensen, who will make his comeback on international level after a long absence due to an injury, the President of Swiss Badminton Robbert de Kock stated.

- We are also looking forward to seeing Kento Momota back on court amongst other top players from around the globe. The Swiss elite will also be represented at the Yonex Swiss Open with European bronze medalist Sabrina Jaquet and other promising talents for whom the tournament provides an opportunity to face the world’s best.
