Qualifying rounds for the PERODUA Malaysia Masters 2018 starts on Tuesday along with the first rounds of the mixed doubles draw. Many Europeans will be in action on Day 1 in Kuala Lumpur.

With the Premier Badminton League concluded the previous week in India, many top European players are ready to join the new structure of the HSBC BWF World Tour.

Fans can look forward to seeing Kamilla Rytter Juhl, Christinna Pedersen, Carolina, Marin, Viktor Axelsen, Kirsty Gilmour, Brice Leverdez, Ivan Sozonov, Vladimir Ivanov, this week in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, for the BWF Super 500 event.

A big delegation of Danish players has taken the long trip to Asia and for Day 1, there is only one player in the qualification. Men’s singles Kim Bruun will try his luck against Subhankar Dey as the first Dane on court.

An ‘army’ of Danish mixed doubles will follow him on Tuesday for the first rounds of the event. It will be exciting to see if the upcoming power-couple of Christinna Pedersen and Mathias Christiansen can keep up the heat from the end of last year, where they went into two Superseries finals in a row.

- Well-prepared for the Asian trip
A bunch of French players have taken the long trip to Asia for Thailand Masters last week, Malaysia Masters this week and Indonesia Masters in the following. The French players who will take the court to make it to the main draw on Tuesday are; Lucas Corvee, Thomas Rouxel and Delphine Lansac.

- The French team have had a long period of training straight after Scottish Open, with the exception of a few players. But we are well-prepared for the Asian trip. We changed a bit the way of practice to be at 100% for the tournaments, Bastian Kersaudy said to Badminton Europe during Thailand Masters last week.

The foregoing week, the mixed doubles duo of Lea Palermo and Kersaudy crashed out right before the quarter-finals. This Tuesday, the two will try to make it through the first rounds of Malaysia Masters.

Furthermore, Brice Leverdez and the duo of Ronan Labar and Audrey Fontaine are also in the main draw, and the latter of two will be in action in Tuesday as well.
