Vote for BEC Awards 2017 now

The awards for the best European players in 2017 kicks off today. Badminton Europe calls on all badminton fans to vote.

On 14 April 2018, Badminton Europe (BEC) will organize the 6th BEC Awards Gala where the BEC Awards for the year of 2017 will be presented.

The best European players are recognized in 5 different categories; BEC Male Player of the Year, BEC Female Player of the Year, BEC Young Player of the Year, BEC Senior Player of the Year and BEC Para-Badminton Player of the Year.

In each category, four nominees are chosen, and it is then up to you, badminton fans and readers, to choose the winners in all four of them. There are three ways for the fans to vote for the 5 categories; via Facebook, Instagram or e-mail; 

  • Go to the photo albums on Facebook and click 'like' on the photo of the nominees you wish to vote for
  • Go to Instagram and 'like' the photo of the nominees you wish to vote for 
  • Send an e-mail to with the names of the nominees you wish to vote for. Please write "BEC Awards 2017" in the subject line.
The deadline for the voting is on 12 March 2018 at 9.00 CET.

A BEC Awards Panel determines the winner from the two players/pairs in each category that has received the most fan votes.

Coach and Technical Official of the year
BEC is still accepting nominations for Coach of the Year 2017 and Technical Official of the Year 2017. Badminton Europe’s Member Associations, BEC Athletes’ Commission and European Technical Officials have been invited to send nominations in the two above mentioned awards, including for the BEC Badminton for Women Award 2017. 

The nominations for the BEC Badminton for Women Award 2017 has already been accepted and you can find the final nominees by clicking here.

The BEC Awards Panel will determine the winner for the following awards: BEC Coach of the Year, BEC Technical Official of the Year, and, BEC Women for Badminton Award.
