Kazan is almost ready to host the biggest team event in Europe in 2018, and the groups are now ready.

The draw for the group stage took place on December 5th at the Badminton Europe office in Brøndby, Denmark.

Denmark ready to defend titles
The defending Champions, Denmark, is top seeded for both Men’s and Women’s team, and the Danish players are ready to defend their titles.

- It is always cool to know, that you are the favorite. We are the team everybody wants to beat, and we want to show everyone, that they can’t, Line Kjærsfeldt women’s singles at the Danish national team tells Badminton Europe.
 
Besides Denmark and Russia who is seeded four for both Men’s and Women’s teams, England and Germany are seeded to reach the semi-finals in the men’s competition. France, Poland and Finland complete the seeding. Denmark, Russia, Spain and Germany are the top seeded for the women’s tournament, with Bulgaria and England taking the remaining seeding positions.

Eight teams qualify for knock out stage
The European Men’s Team Championships group stage will consist of six groups with each four teams and one group with five team. Eight teams will qualify for the knock out stage: Group winners and the best ranked team finishing second in their group. 

The European Women’s Team Championship group stage will consist of six groups with each four teams. Eight teams will qualify for the knock out stage: Group winners and the two best ranked teams finishing second in their groups.

Men’s Championships:

4. Russia

The 2018 European Men’s & Women’s Team Championships will take place in Kazan from 13-18 February 2018.
