With the China Open going on this week in Fuzhou, the world ranking list was published today having some new rankings for the European players. 

Denmark’s Anders Antonsen climbed one position up and is no. 15 on the men’s singles ranking list this week. 

Mark Caljouw (The Netherlands) has his career-high ranking position as no 40. Germany’s Fabian Roth (Germany), ranked no 43, is remaining on the same ranking position for the second week. 

Toma Junior Popov from France is gradually getting adopted to the elite level. In this week’s world ranking list Popov is on his highest ranking position – no. 182. 

COE player ready for new challenges

Iikka Heino from Finland is one of the 16 players training in the BEC “Centre of Excellence”. This week he is ranked no. 129 on the men’s singles ranking list. Iikka hasn’t played many tournaments during this period, concentrating only on trainings, however, he speaks positively about the future.

“It’s difficult to say anything about my future ranking but I feel good and I’m ready for the tournaments. In the beginning I was struggling a little with my own game due to tough training weeks but I have been talking a lot with my coaches and now I feel really confident.” – Iikka tells Badminton Europe.

Women’s singles doing good

Mia Blichfeldt (Denmark) is ranked no. 32 on women’s singles ranking list. She had her career-high ranking position as no. 31 in the last week’s ranking list. 

Mette Poulsen (Denmark) has climbed two spots up to occupy position no. 44. Germany’s Fabienne Deprez is the next European women’s singles player following her position as she is ranked no. 47.

Delphine Lansac (France) is slowly making a comeback and this week she is ranked no. 57.

Changes in men’s and women’s doubles list

Gabriela Stoeva/Stefani Stoeva remain on position no. 10 for the third consecutive week. 

The “White Nights 2017” men’s doubles champions Mark Lamsfuss/Marvin Emil Seidel (Germany) are ranked no. 36 this week. Jacco Arends and Ruben Jille from the Netherlands are remaining on position no. 41 for the second week.
