Erik Meijs, of The Netherlands, has finished his second week at the Danish Certificated Training Centre in Greve. He shares with us his experience.

"After my first week of training in which I had some problems with my ankle, I was hoping that in the second week I could do some more on court.

On Monday, June 11 we started the week with some extra care to see how my ankle would react and I was able to move on court. It felt ok, so Nadia Lyduch and I decided that I could do some more!

I was really happy about this, because now I could move more on the court and at the same time stay focused on my strokes.

This second week I met also some other players, which was also really nice.

Every morning we started again with some good warming up exercises. It's very important that we did this because I felt really good on court after every warm up. Most of the time Nadia was leading the warm up herself.

After that we did some exercises two against one in which everyone was busy with their own focus points. Of course when you are the player who is standing alone you want to have the right feeding. So it's really important that the other players are all focused to give the right feeding. Sometimes this is heavy, but if you really concentrate on it, it works out pretty well.

We also had some extra physical training this week. We had to work for about 15 minutes with a lot of shuttles, but also exercises next to the court. I was still not able to do everything at a 100% level, but it was difficult enough for me.

On Thursday I was almost 100% recovered from my ankle. I was really happy about this because I had to play in the weekend the last tournament of the season with my club. Nadia and I decided that it would be good to play a single to try and see what happened with my ankle. That worked out pretty well and the ankle felt good. So, I was more or less ready for the weekend. Thursday evening I flew home for a few days and on Friday I went to the physiotherapist.

Monday I went back from the Netherlands to Greve to do my last week of training at the Greve Training Centre."
