All stars will come to Sweden

The full list of participants for the 2012 European Championships has been announced. All European badminton stars will come to Karlskrona to fight for the prestigious European crowns in the five categories. Peter Gade will battle for his 6th Gold medal in the men's singles. So far, the Dane is unbeaten at European Championships since his first ever start in 1998. But this time Gade will face a tough competition by the next generation of European singles stars.

His compatriots Jan Ø. Jørgensen and youngster Viktor Axelsen, Germany's Marc Zwiebler and England's Rajiv Ouseph are hot favourites to take a medal in Karlskrona. Tine Baun of Denmark, Germany's Juliane Schenk, Petya Nedelcheva of Bulgaria, Pi Hongyan of France and Spanish wonderkid Carolina Marin are the serious contenders in the women's singles event.

The 2012 European Championships will take place in the Telenor Arena in Karlskrona from 16 to 21 April 2012. The whole event will be covered by Badminton Europe's streaming portal BE.tv.

Wild Cards will be announced on Thursday 15 March 2012.

The seedings will be announced on Thursday 29 March 2012.

The draw will be conducted on Tuesday 3 April 2012.
