Today, Badminton Europe unveils the host for the European Club Championships in 2017. In close cooperation with the Italian Badminton Federation, we are very excited to welcome the best clubs from the continent in Milan next year.

The foregoing two years, the club championships have been organised in Tours, France, and this event will be a first for Italy. This means that last years’ bronze winners, BC Milano, can possibly look forward to improve their result on home turf.

It will be conducted in the venue ‘PalaBadminton’, which hosts the annual international junior tournament; YONEX Italian Junior, and in 2015 it also hosted the biggest event in Italy, the YONEX Italian International.

In 2009, the European Junior Championships was played at the very same venue as well, but next year in June, PalaBadminton will welcome the best badminton clubs in Europe.

PalaBadminton is, furthermore, the newest addition to the Certificated Training Centre-project, where top-players like Beatriz Corrales (ESP) and Indra Bagus Ade Chendra (ITA) are based.

“It’s with great pleasure that we are to take another event back to PalaBadminton, and back to Milan. The venue hosted a very successful European Junior Championships back in 2009, only days after its official opening – and we do believe that next year’s ECC can be just as good, if not better.  The venue, recently becoming one of our Certificated Training Centers, is ideal for such event – and we are of course happy that we are able to bring the event to the true home field of the reigning bronze medal winners, BC Milano, who have been truly supporting the event through many many years.”, says Jimmy Andersen, Senior Manager at Badminton Europe.

Last year, Issy Les Moulineaux BC 92 (FRA) walked away with the trophy -  join us in Milan from 20-24th of June, 2017, to find out who the new champions will be.
