Can Eric Pang take title in Zagreb?

The 2015 Victor Croatian International will be held from 9 – 12 April in Zagreb.  The organizer is badminton club Stella in accordance with the Croatian Badminton Association. This year, the Victor Croatian International is gathering participants from 27 countries, among them are big teams from badminton power-houses such as Denmark, England, The Netherlands, Germany and Malaysia. Host country Croatia takes part with a big team as well. For the first time, players from Australia will travel to the East-European country to take part in the 5.000 Dollars event.

 

Players to watch

Men's singles: Eric Pang (NED), Fabian Roth (GER), Erik Meijs (NED), Dinuka Karunaratna (SRI), Wong Beryno Jiann Tze (MAS)

Women's singles: Olga Golovanova (RUS), Clara Azurmendi (ESP), Julie Finne-Ipsen (DEN), Olga Konon (GER)

Very interesting for the viewers will be to witness the performance of Croatian top men's pair: Zvonimir Đurkinjak and Zvonimir Hoelbling, currently number 75 in BWF world rankings. The tournament commenced on Thursday, April 09th at 14:00 with the qualifying stage. Like last year, the International Series tournament will be held in a new sport hall SC LUČKO. The referee is Jas Bedi from Scotland and the deputy referee is Darko Ivan Vidaković from Croatia.
