During the forthcoming 2014 European Senior Championships in Caldas da Rainha, Badminton Europe will be initiating an equipment donation program towards helping its member associations in the Balkan region (mainly Serbia, Croatia and Bosnia-Herzegovina) which were hit by severe flooding earlier this year.

A significant amount of sport halls, containing a substantial amount of badminton equipment were hit by the severe flooding, resulting in massive loss of valuable badminton equipment in these countries. The badminton sport in the Balkan region has suffered tremendously due to the flooding, and therefore Badminton Europe is now initiating a donation programme towards the region, to re-establish the possibilities for playing badminton here.

During the 2014 European Senior Championships in Caldas da Rainha, Badminton Europe will be happy to receive any spare badminton equipment that your association, or its players representing your association, that you/they can offer. Any help will be highly appreciated.

Donations can be made on Monday 22 September from 13.00-15.00 and on Wednesday 24 September from 13.00-15.00 at Badminton Europe’s office in the competition venue in Caldas da Rainha.

Thanks in advance for your kind assistance and invaluable help – and we do hope that you will share this email with all of your players going to Portugal later this week.
