34 national junior players from Austria, Ireland, Switzerland, Sweden and Germany stayed for one week at the sports hotel Olympica in Brig, Switzerland to practise together with eight high level coaches from four countries.

A very intensive programme of individual and physical sessions, practising in groups, team matches, regeneration and leisure activities guaranteed an optimal preparation of the players for the upcoming season. The players had been challenged by special mountain training like the unforgettable interval uphill runs and different team events in badminton, beach volleyball, soccer or bowling. The spirit of the camp was an amazing mixture of exchange and intensive training sessions. Players and coaches are looking forward to meeting again at the next tournament.

Comments of the coaches:

Sabrina Heiniger (National Junior Coach and Head of the Junior Department of Switzerland): “Thanks a lot for the good week and I am looking forward to next year!”

Peter Zauner (Coach Austria): “I also just want to say that it was an impressive week for me and that I like the special atmosphere we had the whole week in the perfect organized venue. I think that many players learned a lot this week also because of our good team work and I hope that I could also give some positive inputs this week.”

Daniel Magee (Performance Pathway Coach, Ireland): “Even though I was the only non-German speaker I felt very welcome and I enjoyed being part of the team.”

Matthias Hütten (National Junior Coach Germany): “Many thanks to you all for a great training week. I really enjoyed the great quality of players, coaches and for sure the perfect accommodation, so in my opinion the Camp was once again a great success.”

Manfred Ernst (Head Coach PTSV Rosenheim, Former National Junior Coach of Austria): “After two years of absence, I'm happy to be back on board!  I immediately felt again as a part of the team. The conditions at the Olympica were perfect again! Looking forward to next year.”

Holger Hasse (Head Coach Germany): “A big THANK YOU to Badminton Europe for the support of this camp!”
